OPINION
Mo Diame’s inability to retain possession would almost be impressive if it wasn’t so frustrating to watch. The Senegalese international has bad habit of misplacing five and 10 yard passes, and with Newcastle dangling precariously above the relegation zone, they can ill afford a passenger in the middle of the park. Against Fulham, things were no different. Rafa Benitez’s hand has been forced a little in terms of his selection with injuries and a general lack of personnel, but with January approaching, he must feel that reinforcements are essential. With Ki Sung-Young impressing and Jonjo Shelvey providing a rare capability to split a defence in an instance, surely Diame will be the first one ousted should the Magpies recruit in the new year. The 31-year-old is tireless in his work ethic, but he lacks the quality needed to compete in the midfield of a Premier League clash, and with every passing week that become more and more obvious.

Can we get a replacement for Diame already? Yikes.

I'll never question his work rate, but Mo Diame is nothing short of tragic on the ball. Are his boots made of rock? #nufc #newful
