OPINION
If any further proof were needed that Liverpool have a special talent on their hands in Bobby Duncan, it came with the 17-year-old’s performance for the Under-18s in their 6-5 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday. The cousin of club legend Steven Gerrard scored a remarkable four goals and assisted the other two, including that for the last-minute winner by Paul Glatzel, as Barry Lewtas’ side closed the gap on Under-18s Premier League leaders Everton to just one point. Duncan has now scored 16 times for the age-group side this season, as he proudly pointed out afterwards on his personal Twitter account, as well as provided eight assists. Those are persuasive numbers, and he is providing a compelling case to be promoted to the Under-23s in the very near future, especially as that side is lacking a natural goalscorer. Little wonder Liverpool supporters are getting very excited by their teenage Scouser.

Bobby Duncan scored 4 today and got 2 assists. Don’t think we’ll have to wait too long before he’s in the under 23’s and pushing for the first team
