Leeds United are plotting to raid Premier League side Fulham for goalkeeper Fabri despite the Spaniard joining the Cottagers over the summer transfer window, according to journalist Serdar Saridag.

The Milliyet reporter claims on his personal Twitter account that the Whites are joined by Rayo Vallecano in chasing the 30-year-old shot stopper, who has made just two appearances for the London club since signing in what Sky Sports reported to be a near-£5million deal.

Having started the first two top flight games of the season, before being dropped to the bench for the following three, he has not made a squad appearance since.

Leeds meanwhile lack experience in their goalkeeping options, Jamal Blackman’s season-ending injury blow leaving Marcelo Bielsa with just Bailey Peacock-Farrell as anyone with meaningful first team experience.

Good move for Leeds?

The Whites do desperately need a goalkeeper and probably are looking for someone with more experience than a younger option.

Fabri ticks those boxes while also coming across as a reasonably cheap signing, if he is being targeted as a permanent signing than a loan arrival.

He might not have made the desired impact with Fulham but at the same time the Premier League is cut throat and the poor results in his two appearances to date were hardly solely his fault.

He would be brought in to battle with Peacock-Farrell, who himself has overcome shaky periods this season, and would be a decent deal for the Elland Road outfit.

Likely to happen?

This is a move which seems to be beneficial for all parties involved.

Fulham get rid of a player who appears to have already been deemed surplus to requirements, the player gets a move away from a club who have no future for him and Leeds get to sort out their goalkeeping issues with an experienced shot stopper.

If Leeds are serious, this should not take too long to get done.
