Tottenham are expected to table a formal bid for Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen in January when they offload one of a trio of current attackers with the winger keen on a move to north London, according to Football.London.

The football news website claim that the 22-year-old is one of Spurs’ top targets heading into January after his fine form with the Tigers, having netted 10 goals and chipping in with three assists in his 25 appearances this season.

It is stated that the sale of Vincent Janssen, Fernando Llorente or Georges-Kevin Nkoudou will trigger a formal move for the winger, who is said to be interested in a January switch despite knowing first team football will be a battle for him.

Good move for Tottenham?

Spurs are not the only ones linked with a move for Bowen this winter and so it should be clear to the Lilywhites they are chasing a talent destined for the top.

He might not be the biggest name in English football right now but he has great potential and is already showing a decent record in the second tier.

His versatility should mean that he picks up game time here and there in the second half of the season, following in the footsteps of Dele Alli who made an immediate impact on his move to north London.

The asking price of around £15million should not put Spurs off – as a young English talent, he could double that in the next couple of years.

Likely to happen?

One of Janssen, Llorente or Nkoudou seems certain to leave and as such Tottenham should have no problem getting the green light to make a move for Bowen.

With the player reported to be keen on a move, Mauricio Pochettino ought to be aware that the sooner they put a bid in, the less chance they have of missing out.

It is by no means a guaranteed move but there is a lot going in Spurs’ favour.
