Everton welcome Leicester City to Goodison Park on Tuesday for a New Year’s Day clash in the Premier League, and Marco Silva is expected to make just one change to his starting XI.

The Toffees failed to follow up a 5-1 thrashing of Burnley as they fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat by Brighton last time out, and they will be looking to bounce back against a Foxes side also coming off a loss.

Claude Puel’s men looked to have secured a point at home against Cardiff at the weekend but Victor Camarasa netted an injury-time winner to condemn Leicester to a damaging defeat.

Silva has gone with a back three in their last two games but is expected to revert to a four-man back line against Leicester, with one change in the offing.

In goal, Jordan Pickford is expected to start as normal.

In defence, Seamus Coleman, Micheal Keane, Kurt Zouma and Lucas Digne are all expected to remain in place, while 6’5″ colossus Yerry Mina [Transfermarkt] is expected to be axed.

In midfield, Idrissa Gueye and Andre Gomes are expected to retain their places, with key attacker Gylfi Sigurdsson restored to the side in the playmaker role.

On the wings, both Theo Walcott and Bernard are expected to keep their spots, while Richarlison is likely to lead the line once again for the Toffees.
