Cardiff move for Niasse as Everton stand firm over sale

|

Cardiff City have launched a move to try and sign Oumar Niasse from Everton but the two clubs are at loggerheads with the Welsh outfit seeking a loan while the Toffees seek a permanent exit, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The reporter claims on his personal Twitter account that the Bluebirds are in the hunt for a new striker and are eyeing up Sunderland’s Josh Maja, while they have already tried to sign Senegal international from the Goodison Park outfit.

However, it is stated that while the Premier League strugglers are seeking a loan move the Toffees are only willing to sell on a permanent basis, leaving the two sides at loggerheads.

Opinion

Niasse has no future with Everton and so it is clear to see why the club are looking to sell him on rather than ship him out on loan. His wages are a drain on the Toffees’ financial resources and while he has proven to be a reliable option he just does not have the sort of quality needed as the Merseyside outfit look to take themselves to the next level. Cardiff seem like the sort of club where he could thrive and so it is no surprise to see them try and move for a player of his ilk, with plenty of experience to bring to his next club. Will the two clubs be able to strike a deal? It seems that Cardiff are seeking a low-cost option to try and bolster their squad and with Everton demanding a transfer fee to get him off their books, it might be a step too far for the Bluebirds. Only time will tell though and it could be that Everton’s desperation to get rid will see them shake hands on a cut price deal which suits Cardiff more than the Toffees.
