OPINION
Arsenal fans just can’t move for good news and upbeat turns of events these days. A 1-0 Europa League triumph over Qarabag extended their unbeaten run to a remarkable 22 matches and provided the opportunity for Unai Emery to give meaningful senior game time to a string of youngsters as a host of first teamers were given the night off. The one who impressed the most on what was a generally low-key occasion was Bukayo Saka, making his first start for the club and just his second appearance in total, both of which have come in Europe this season. The left-winger is still only 17 – and only turned that age in September – but demonstrated a sprightliness that suggests he is destined for big things. Aside from goalscorer Alexandre Lacazette, he was the only player among both sides to have a shot on target, and it was his excellent cross that found Eddie Nketiah for the disallowed goal. Arsenal fans raved about Saka on Twitter during and after the match.

I think the performance was okay, good to see some youngster. Saka looks decent just needs to learn when to pass the ball, bit selfish at times but a big talent. #afc

Feel like I could just copy and paste what I said about the first half. Decent, but dull, game of football and nice to see Arsenal claim the last three points. Nketiah and Saka were outstanding for us. My report on the latter will be out in 10, or so, minutes! #afc

Saka was absolutely class there tonight, always looking to take on his man and make something happen. Telling that in the end all they could do was try and kick him up in the air. Gutted that chance didn’t go in for him #AFC
