Arsenal are targeting a January deal for Boca Juniors attacker Cristian Pavon, according to The Sun.
The newspaper report that the Gunners have already contacted the Argentine giants about signing the 22-year-old star, and have been quoted £40million for his signature.
The Sun claim that Unai Emery is a huge admirer of the Argentina international, who would be keen on a move to London with the Gunners.
It is said that Boca are braced for a bid close to their valuation of the player, having fended off several approaches from Premier League clubs already.
Good move for Arsenal?
Yes.
Pavon is an up-and-coming star of Argentinian football, and has been earmarked for a big-money move to Europe for about a year now.
It is in fact a surprise that such a switch has not materialised yet, but it will no doubt come soon with Boca having just lost in the Copa Libertadores final against bitter rivals River Plate.
The only issue here for the Gunners is the £40million price tag, with that amount representing a pretty big risk for them considering Pavon’s lack of experience in Europe.

It looks like Pavon is set for a move to a bigger club in January, but whether that will be Arsenal is hard to say at the moment.
The Gunners are obviously extremely keen on the Boca attacker, but there will be other clubs interested as well.
