Alex Scott heaped praise on Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard after witnessing his display in the 2-1 win over Watford on Boxing Day.

The Sky Sports pundit shared that she was running out for words to praise the 27-year-old winger as he kept continuing to step up for the Blues to ensure they get another three points on the board.

Scott shared that she thought Hazard was absolutely superb against the Hornets and shared that he was the type of player that always gave his side the cutting edge when his teammates doesn’t seem to be capitalising on seeing a lot of the ball.

“I’m running out of words for what he is continuing to do for Chelsea and I suppose when you look at the game Chelsea had a lot of good spells in the second half but lacked that cutting edge but Hazard always gives you that, gives you those moments, steps up for the team and gets them three points today,” said Scott on Sky Sports Main Event (Wednesday December 26th, 21:34pm).

“He was absolutely superb today.”

OPINION

Hazard ran the show against Watford and really he looked like capable of even more. The 27-year-old was the standout performer for his side by some distance but that doesn’t mean he was firing on all cylinders. Hazard had a couple of opportunities to score that missed and it was a testament to his character that he not only mention those in his post match interview on Sky, but that he didn’t let them get to him and continued to keep striving forward. Hazard scored both goals in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Watford on Wednesday but was no doubt disappointed he couldn’t give himself a late Christmas present by earning himself the match ball. However the 27-year-old should be proud of his performance as if he didn’t step up to the plate you’d feel the Blues probably would have dropped points against the Hornets which would have seen them not making the most of Arsenal only managing a draw with Brighton earlier in the day.
