BBC Sportsound pundit Tam McManus has slammed Olivier Ntcham for looking as though he was “towing a caravan” in Celtic’s XX defeat to Hibernian at Easter Road on Sunday.

Ntcham, 22, was back in the starting line-up after having to make do with an appearance off the bench in the midweek defeat to Red Bull Salzburg, but the Frenchman did little to justify Brendan Rodgers’ decision with an appalling display in Leith this weekend.

There was one moment in the first-half where Hibs star Florian Kamberi completely lost Ntcham, and McManus was quick to take a swipe at the ex-Manchester City midfielder for his lack of pace.

“Ntcham towing a caravan there,” he said via his personal Twitter account.

OPINION

Ntcham has had a stinker of a season for Celtic. The Frenchman was good up until the end of August, which is funnily enough when Moussa Dembele left Parkhead. Has Ntcham’s poor form been a result of Dembele leaving? It’s quite plausible considering they were likely good friends because the French connection and they both played well when on the park together. Ntcham needs to be playing a lot better than this because at the moment it doesn’t seem as though it’s worth keeping him around at Parkhead. When is the last time that the midfielder actually had a really good game for the Hoops? It has been way too long and other players have proven themselves to be better than him. Ntcham could fetch Celtic quite a decent fee in the transfer market so maybe it is time that Rodgers considers the possibility of cashing in on the midfielder at the end of the season.
