OPINION
Nicolas Otamendi seems to get a lot of stick from some of the Manchester City fans and you can see why after his “sloppy” defending allowed Mark Albrighton to score an equaliser for Leicester at the King Power on Tuesday. Before the Carabao Cup quarter-final, Man City had won every single game with Otamendi on the pitch this season, with the Argentine appearing 12 times across all competitions before the trip to the East Midlands. They hadn’t conceded too many goals in those games either. He was pretty poor against Leicester but he is definitely a bit of a scapegoat among some of the City supporters, who just jump on his back straight away. Before the Foxes’ goal Otamendi was pretty decent. He lacks the ball-playing ability to be a top centre-back for Pep Guardiola but still, he is decent and can perform much better than he did against Leicester.
