OPINION

We’re huge fans of Leeds manager Mareclo Bielsa and we’d love to see him take Leeds back into the Premier League.

It’s goals that’s going to get them there and we think that Liverpool’s young striker Dominic Solanke is the last piece of the jigsaw.

We know that Bielsa isn’t a fan of signing players in January but we also know he’s prepared to be overruled by Victor Orta if the club hierarchy believes the team needs strengthening.

Leeds don’t have a shortage of attackers any more. With Patrick Bamford and Izzy Brown back in action, along with Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Jack Clarke, they’ve got plenty of options going forward.

But Solanke would give them an added dimension.

The 21-year-old has absolutely bags of talent but his route to the Liverpool first-team has been blocked off this season.

Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi are both ahead of him in the pecking order and they struggle to get a look-in.

The only option for Solanke is a loan move away and it’s been reported that Rangers have made him their priority in January, with Steven Gerrard looking to reunite with the Liverpool youngster after his time at Anfield.

According to the Daily Express, the Scottish side’s “main priority” in January is to land a new striker and Solanke is top of their wish list.

However, Leeds are surely a more attractive destination.

Under Bielsa, Solanke can carry on learning the modern high-press style that has put Liverpool and Man City on top of the Premier League.

And with Solanke, Leeds would have the Championship’s most electrifying attack – an accolade that rivals West Brom hold at the moment.

We’re convinced that the addition of Solanke would be the final piece of the promotion jigsaw for Leeds.
