Pontus Jansson has been gushing over his Leeds United team-mate Pablo Hernandez after the Yorkshire giants won 2-1 against QPR at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Kemar Roofe’s brace helped the Whites come from behind to pick up all three points against Steve McClaren’s side with Hernandez, yet again, putting in a fine performance along the way.

Jansson took to his personal Twitter account after the game to heap praise on the Spanish attacker, claiming he is the best player he has ever played alongside.

“My man, best player I ever played with and it’s a true honour to have you in my team! On to the next one now! See you Saturday,” he said.

OPINION

Hernandez has been an absolutely Rolls Royce of a player for Leeds United over the last couple of seasons and it is good to see that even though he is 33-years-old, he is better than ever. It is mad to think that he has almost left Elland Road in each of the last two campaigns with his contract almost expiring and being renewed at a late stage. Marcelo Bielsa simply could not do without the former Swansea and Valencia star, who has been untouchable in his starting line-up this season. Hernandez has made 14 appearances across all competitions this term. He has scored seven goals in those games and supplied seven assists. When Hernandez was injured between August and October, Leeds won just two of seven games. With him in the side they have won 10 of 14. He is irreplaceable and is looking as though he is going to be a mainstay for years and years to come.
