Former Celtic striker Andy Walker has predicted that Rangers will win 3-1 against Dundee when the two Scottish Premiership sides meet at Dens Park on Sunday.

The Light Blues will be desperate to bounce back after their surprise 1-0 defeat to Aberdeen earlier this week, which saw them lose hold of their top spot in the league.

And Walker is backing Steven Gerrard’s men to do exactly that, and he has been raving about Ibrox ace James Tavernier in the build-up to the game.

“A captain who leads by example both in play & discipline,” said Walker as he pinpointed Tavernier as the Gers’ key man on the Sky Sports website.

OPINION

It would be a massive shock for Rangers to lose against Dundee this weekend. The Dark Blues are rooted to the bottom of the table, but they will be boosted going into this game because they thrashed Hamilton 4-0 on Wednesday night. Kenny Miller scored a hat-trick in that game, but the ex-Ger will more than likely have a tough time to replicate that performance when he takes on his old side this weekend. Gerrard will surely make changes after the defeat to Aberdeen. Alfredo Morelos will be out because of a red card so that means Kyle Lafferty is expected to start. Lafferty really has a point to prove because he has not been as good as everyone thought he would be when Rangers re-signed him from Hearts in the summer. The striker has had issues away from Ibrox with the Northern Ireland set-up and that may have upset his rhythm. He needs to go in all guns blazing on Sunday though and hopefully give Gerrard a reason not to recall Morelos next week.
