OPINION
Wow, some Everton fans are furious with the proposed capacity of their new stadium, which is ridiculous really because what else did they expect? Everton are not the most widely-supported team on Merseyside. Goodison Park holds just over 39,500 and the average attendance this season has been 38,871. The Toffees announced on Thursday that their new stadium will initially hold 52,000 with the potential to go up 62,000. How can the fans not be happy about this? 52,000 is more than the average crowd at St James’ Park and Stamford Bridge this season. If they reach their potential of 62,000 in the future, their stadium will be bigger than the Emirates, the London Stadium, Anfield and so on. In fact, only Old Trafford currently holds more than that. These Everton fans need to be realistic. They are going berserk over something on social media that is simply ridiculous. They need a reality check, just look at the numbers.
