West Bromwich Albion have registered an interest in Leicester City midfielder Andy King ahead of the January transfer window, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper report that the Foxes are ready to let the Wales international leave in the upcoming market, with King totally left out of Claude Puel’s 25-man squad for the Premier League.

The Telegraph claim that West Brom are now mulling over a swoop for the 30-year-old Premier League winner, who is desperate to move on when the window opens.

Good move for West Brom?

Absolutely.

King is a proven Premier League performer who could come in and hit the ground running in West Brom’s bid to get back into the top-flight.

The Wales international knows what it takes to top a division after playing a big part in the Foxes’ miracle Premier League title, and West Brom could do with a player like him around.

The Baggies’ midfield has not been great so far this season, and King could be a brilliant reinforcement for Darren Moore to bring in.

Likely to happen?

Well, what will most certainly happen is an exit for King.

Leicester are obviously ready to let him leave, with King himself desperate to move on and secure first-team football elsewhere.

Whether he will end up at the Hawthorns is impossible to say, but West Brom are doing well to register their interest early ahead of the window opening in three weeks time.
