OPINION
Leeds fans have been tweeting about rumours of a possible injury to star player Patrick Bamford ahead of Sunday’s clash against Aston Villa.
Leeds have been basking in some brilliant fitness news this week, with Bamford himself returning to action last week and scoring the only goal of the game against Bolton.
And Luke Ayling is set to start in the game today despite his original return date being slated for January.
Liam Cooper is back training and Gaetano Berardi is making ‘unbelievable’ progress in his rehabilitation.
Which would make the rumours of Bamford being injured – if true – a real setback.
We have to stress that we’ve heard absolutely nothing from any of our reliable sources. And journalists like the ever dependable Phil Hay haven’t commented on it yet.
It could be absolutely nothing, a rumour that’s managed to catch fire on Twitter and we certainly hope that’s the case.
We were looking forward to seeing Bamford in action today. He probably wouldn’t have started but would have come off the bench, like he did to such effect last week.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on further developments but in the meantime, here are the worried reactions from Leeds fans:
