OPINION
It’s no surprise to see the Nottingham Forest fans react to Costel Pantilimon in this way after his dire performance in the team’s 1-0 loss to Preston North End on Saturday. Alex Neil’s side aren’t terrible, but they are the sort of team that Forest should be beating if they want to secure promotion this campaign. Unfortunately, as he has done a few times this season, Pantilimon cost Aitor Karanka’s side points. He was certainly at fault for Louis Moult’s goal and looked dodgy throughout the clash at the City Ground. Obviously the players didn’t do their job down the other end either, but Pantilimon has continually failed to provide a reassuring presence between the sticks. That’s why there are fans calling for the club to sign an upgrade on the former Sunderland man in January. Saturday’s display proved that that wouldn’t be a bad idea for Karanka, because the 31-year-old seems to be regressing week by week.

A terrible, frustrating, pain in the arse of a game. Preston were absolutely terrible and scored their only chance. Forest the better team but lacked any urgency at all. Pantilimon needs replacing immediately. #NFFC

Pantilimon is appalling, living on former glory. Not fit to wear a forest shirt #getrid #nffc

The whole team weren’t great but Pantilimon and Cash were dreadful. I’ve said it time and time again but we won’t go anywhere with him in goal. Need far better, will cost us too many points over the season #nffc
