Aston Villa welcome fellow promotion hopefuls Stoke City to Villa Park on Saturday afternoon, and Dean Smith is expected to make just one change his starting XI.

Villa were robbed of two points last time out as Jay Rodriguez equalised for West Bromwich Albion in the closing moments in a 2-2 draw, with the ball clearly going in off his arm.

Smith will be keen to rectify that with a solid display against an in-form Stoke side which hasn’t lost in eight games and sits just two points below Villa in the table.

In goal, Orjan Nyland is expected to retain his place.

In defence, an injury to £30,000-a-week left-back Neil Taylor [Silly Season] is expected to see Alan Hutton switch flanks with 6ft flyer Ahmed Elmohamady [Transfermarkt] replacing the Wales international in the lineup. James Chester and Axel Tuanzebe are expected to retain their spots in the centre.

A midfield trio of John McGinn, Conor Hourihane and Glenn Whelan are expected to line up, with Jack Grealish also missing out with injury.

In attack, the in-form Anwar El Ghazi is expected to keep his place on the right, with Yannick Bolasie once again lining up on the opposite flank, while Tammy Abraham is the clear choice to lead the line.
