As if things were not already exciting enough for the fans at Leeds United with a push for the Championship title, they get to see a homegrown sensation make a name for himself in the shape of Jack Clarke.

The 18-year-old has gone from rank outsider to firm first choice option in a matter of months this season and is one of the most electric youngsters that Elland Road have had the pleasure to witness in recent years.

A winger with no fear, he has shown a desire and flair to constantly terrorise opposition backlines with his tricky footwork and there is a reason he has featured in all of the last six games for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

He is just one of two wingers dazzling the supporters of late, with 26-year-old Ezgjan Alioski having enjoyed a new lease of life courtesy of a game changing tactical switch from the left flank to the right wing – a move which is surely going to help Clarke take his game to the next level.

The Macedonian looks much more comfortable out on the right hand side and with his teenage counterpart more suited to the opposite flank, taking Alioski out of the equation as an option must surely mean more game time for the homegrown starlet.

Playing more regularly will help him grow and develop as a player and should see Clarke and Alioski as the club’s preferred wing pairing come the end of the season – quite the achievement for someone who had not played for the senior side until October this year.

Bielsa seems to have cracked the problem of his wingers and must continue to give Alioski the freedom of the right wing while handing Clarke regular game time on the left.
