Have these Celtic fans not seen Oliver Burke play for West Brom? There is a reason why the 21-year-old has barely managed a game for the Baggies this season, and that’s because he is nowhere near good enough for even a top Championship side down in England. The Daily Record has reported that the Hoops are plotting to sign the Scotland international on loan in the January transfer window as Brendan Rodgers eyes reinforcements to his attack, but what can Burke offer that Rodgers currently lacks? He is tall and can play up front, yes, but he is better off being played as a right-sided winger and Celtic already have a plethora of players in that area. The 6ft 2 (transfermarkt) forward has been a huge flop at West Brom, who paid £15million for him from RB Leipzig last year, so to see a section of Celtic supporters “absolutely delighted” by the reported hunt to sign him is baffling.
