Dundee have confirmed that Calvin Miller’s loan deal has been terminated earlier than scheduled.

Miller, 20, made a season-long switch to Dens Park in the summer after Celtic allowed the left-back to leave Glasgow’s East End on a temporary basis.

However the Dark Blues confirmed via their official Twitter account and official website on Sunday that Miller is one of three players to exit the Scottish Premiership strugglers, along with Adil Nabi and Andy Boyle.

OPINION

Dundee have been very poor this season and Miller has been a key player at Dens Park. The defender made 16 appearances in all competitions for the Dark Blues in what was his first loan spell away from Parkhead and it is a shame that it was terminated early because he would have gained a lot from spending the whole season there. It will be interesting to know if Brendan Rodgers was behind this. Celtic had to play without a recognised left-back in their 1-0 defeat at Ibrox on Saturday with Kieran Tierney and Emilio Izaguirre both carrying injuries. Could Miller be returning to Parkhead because one of those two players is suffering from a long-term issue? It seems unlikely because if that was the case then Miller would have been the only player to leave Dundee. Because Nabi and Boyle have also left, it seems like this is a decision that has been made by Dees boss Jim McIntyre.
