Leeds United are set to send scouts to watch Everton’s friendly with Kenyan side Gor Mahia on November 6th, according to Goal.com.

The outlet reports on their website that the Whites – along with their Championship rivals Birmingham City – will send scouts to watch out for talent in the friendly that is due to take place in Liverpool in a few days’ time.

The Kenyan outfit last faced the Toffees in June last year, where their opponents secured a 2-1 victory over the national champions.

OPINION

The Kenyans are not renowned for playing the best football and their league is not that well-known, but it could be seen as a wise move to scout for star players who are relatively hidden. Not many clubs scout for players in this part of Africa, and who knows, they may uncover an undiscovered gem who may end up gracing the pitch of Elland Road. However, this scouting mission does not rule them out of watching some Everton players in action. Most of the senior players are unlikely to be in action due to their Premier League commitments, but many players who do not get much game time – for example, Ademola Lookman and Mason Holgate – may get the chance to feature. Either way, players on both sides will no doubt be looking to impress the Leeds scouts – more so Gor Mahia – in what is an excellent opportunity.
