Wolves must make an audacious attempt to sign Jamie Vardy from Leicester in the January transfer window amid reports that the centre-forward is unhappy at the King Power.

The Telegraph reported in October that Vardy, 31, has been left furious with manager Claude Puel after he decided to drop him from the starting line-up for the 1-1 draw with West Ham.

Vardy may have been shown a straight red card against Wolves when Leicester won 2-0 against Nuno Espirito Santo’s men at the start of the season, but the ex-England international would be a terrific signing by the West Midlands club if they can lure him away from the King Power.

The Mirror has reported that Leicester would consider offloading Vardy for £25million in January and if Wolves are serious about challenging for a spot in Europe this season then they simply must add the proven goalscorer to their squad.

It would cost a lot of money but the £100,000-a-week (Spotrac) forward is completely worth it.

Everyone knows about his exploits in front of goal and how he played a key role in helping Leicester win the Premier League in 2015/16.

He is struggling this season with just three goals in 10 league appearances, but if he was to play for a manager who supports him and spearhead an attack with players like Ruben Neves behind him, then he is bound to have Molineux roaring this season and help Wolves achieve some of their ambitious goals.
