COMMENTARY
West Ham fans might not have had much to celebrate over the weekend with their 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City but Monday brought them a little something to smile about on Twitter. The Irons faithful finally saw summer signing Xande Silva back in action after his injury layoff, going on to net twice for the under-23s. He was already highly rated before being sidelined and it looks as though he has lost none of his goal scoring touch despite his setback – which is why so many are clamouring for his chance to shine in the first team this season. To be fair, Lucas Perez and Javier Hernandez have not exactly done a whole lot and so you can see why the Hammers supporters are so keen to see someone in form among the options off the bench. They are head over heels with his shining display and if he does continue to perform like this, then Manuel Pellegrini may well have no choice but to give him a chance. If and when that does happen, the London Stadium will be bouncing.
