Martin Tyler has said that he would like to see Leeds back in the Premier League.

The legendary Sky Sports commentator was taking part in an exclusive fans Q&A and was asked by one whether he was looking forward to seeing Leeds back in the Premier League.

He replied to say that he had spent five years at Yorkshire Television and was always ‘treated marvellously’ by all the clubs.

He said it would “be very nice to have the chance to visit Leeds or either Sheffield club in the Premier League.”

OPINION

Leeds aren’t used to having neutrals root for them but there are plenty of fans that would love to see Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds promoted back into the Premier League next season. He’s got them playing fantastic football and the thought of him turning a Leeds side out in the Premier League, and going against managers like Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino is mouth-watering stuff. There’s a long way to go yet but there’s a big chance that they could snatch one of the automatic promotion places if they can keep playing with the same attacking verve and avoid any more serious injuries. Tyler was hedging his bets a little bit on this answer, not wanting to annoy any of the Sheffield fans, but there’s very little chance of Sheffield Wednesday making it out of the Championship this season. Sheffield United have a strong shot though, and are currently just one place behind Leeds in fourth with 17 games played. Leeds’ next two games are Bristol City and Reading before the blockbuster clash with the Blades on December 1. That could be a really key game for both club’s promotion chances.
