Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler has heaped praise on Chelsea star Eden Hazard in his exclusive Q&A.

The legendary commentator was answering questions from fans and one was whether he thought Hazard “is one of the best players you have seen in the Premier League?”

The fan said that Hazard’s talent was undeniable but he didn’t think the player was consistent enough.

Tyler was effusive in his praise, saying: “Eden Hazard seems to get even better with each passing season.

“He has also impressed me with the way he doesn’t take himself too seriously – a twinkle in the eye to go with those twinkling feet. I really hope he pledges his long-term future to Chelsea and the Premier League. He would be a loss if he left.”

OPINION
Hazard at his best is one of the best players in the world, let alone the Premier League. It might be unfair to say he’s not consistent enough but he doesn’t seem to produce at the very top level all the time. When he does though, he’s unplayable. The will he/won’t he leave Chelsea has been going on for some time now and the 27-year-old is coming to that point in his contract that’s known as squeaky bum time. He’s due to stay at Stamford Bridge until 2020 but that means that he could start negotiating a pre-contract deal as early as next January, and leave on a free transfer the following summer. Chelsea will not want that to happen and they won’t want to lose their best player. However, this is likely to be Hazard’s last huge contract and if he has aspirations of playing for a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid, this would be the time to do it. We hope he stays. Like Tyler said, the Premier League would be a worse place without him.
