Both Tottenham and Arsenal have reaffirmed their interest in Man United defender Eric Bailly, according to the Daily Record.

Both clubs enquired after the centre-back, who cost United £34million in 2016, in the summer but were rebuffed.

However, the report claims that £75k-a-week man Bailly is not happy at losing his first-team place this season.

Jose Mourinho would rather lose Phil Jones and/or Marcos Rojo if he has to lose one centre-back to fund a new January purchase, but both declined offers to leave in the summer.

OPINION
Tottenham need another centre-back. With Jan Vertonghen out injured and Maurico Pochettino said to be open to offers for Toby Alderweireld in January, Spurs are getting thin at the back. Davinson Sanchez has been a revelation and Juan Foyth has been getting blooded in the Premier League, but he made a couple of critical mistakes against Wolves that almost cost his side two points. He conceded two penalties late on in the game that perhaps showed that while undoubtedly one for the future, he’s got a way to go before he’s a solid and consistent first choice. Bailly has a right to be upset at his treatment recently. United’s defence has been awful this season – they’ve only kept one clean sheet in the Premier League – but the 24-year-old has only made two starts and three more appearances from the bench in 12 league games. It doesn’t sound like Mourinho wants to sell but the player might well want to leave.
