A number of Rangers supporters have been reacting positively to winger Glenn Middleton’s performance against Motherwell on Sunday.

The 18-year-old produced an assured display as he consistently made life difficult for the visitors at Ibrox, helping the team to a 7-1 victory.

Middleton got the assist for Alfredo Morelos’ goal in the first half before getting on the scoresheet himself after the break, delighting the Rangers fans in the process.

COMMENTARY

This game turned into a rout for Rangers after Carl McHugh was sent off in the first half for Motherwell, and Steven Gerrard’s side really poured it on in his absence. Middleton was one of the players who really enjoyed himself on Sunday, producing lovely, positive football and creating havoc for the remaining Motherwell defenders. His deliveries from set pieces were superb, while he controlled his finish well for his goal. The teenager has come on leaps and bounds under Gerrard this campaign, and he seems to be going from strength to strength every time he steps on the pitch. He is an impact player and that’s always going to delight the Gers faithful. You can see why they are so happy with him because he was electric at Ibrox. The visitors’ defence couldn’t live with him, while his team mates couldn’t live without him. He was superb and he deserves all the credit he gets for this display.
