Celtic finally seem to be hitting their stride this season after a stuttering start that saw a string of disappointing results in the Premiership.

Two 5-0 wins in the Premiership in the Premiership in recent weeks and a 2-1 win against Red Bull Leipzig in the Europa League has seen them finding their scoring boots too.

Odsonne Edouard is the main man with 12 goals but if anything was to happen to him, Celtic would have to rely on Leigh Griffiths  and, with all the will in the world, he wouldn’t be enough to fight on multiple fronts at the highest level.

There are plenty of names that Celtic could turn to for extra firepower but perhaps the most intriguing is former Liverpool and Sunderland striker Fabio Borini.

Now at AC Milan, who he joined in the summer for almost £5million after a successful loan stint, Borini has been used as a winger, a striker and an attacking midfielder.

However, he’s only played four league games this season and he could be tempted by a move that would guarantee him more regular game time.

Lee Congerton wanted him when he joined Celtic in 2017 and Brendan Rodgers knows him well after his time at Chelsea, Swansea and Liverpool.

Now could be the time to launch a fresh bid for the attacker.
