Wolverhampton Wanderers are planning to make a bid in January for the services of Liverpool striker Divock Origi, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper reports on its website that the newly-promoted club are lining up an offer for the £20 million rated attacker in the next transfer window after boss Nuno Espirito Santo made signing a new forward a number one priority.

The report states that Wolves are keen to get the Premier League ace on the books following their inquiry about him in the summer, and that they are ready to take their interest in Origi, 23, one step further in January with a bid.

Good move for Wolves?

Yes, definitely. Origi may not be in the first team fold at Liverpool very often, but he is definitely an upgrade on the strikers Nuno currently has at his disposal. Raul Jimenez has hardly set the world alight this season, and the manager is obviously seeking a player who can share his goalscoring burden. If Wolves want to ensure themselves of their top-flight safety sooner rather than later, signing a striker like Origi is an absolute must.

Likely to happen?

Wolves are certainly very keen on Origi if this is the second time that they have registered their interest in signing him. However, this time they are plotting to make an offer, so the possibility of him moving to the club is now more likely than ever. The Belgian is clearly not going to force his way into the first team at Liverpool any time soon – bar any serious injuries – so this potential transfer would make absolute sense.
