Wolverhampton Wanderers legend Steve Bull has lavished praise on first team stars Morgan Gibbs-White and Helder Costa.

Youngster Gibbs-White has impressed off the bench against Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur recently, while Costa has improved of late after a tough start to the season.

Bull is thrilled with them both: “How about that shot from Morgan Gibbs-White? He’s come on in bundles recently,” he wrote for the Express & Star.

“On the break we’re absolutely frightening with the pace we have and Helder Costa epitomises that – he’s got all the attributes you need and his work rate is unbelievable too. I think Nuno’s got it right at the moment with Costa and [Ivan] Cavaleiro starting and then [Adama] Traore and Diogo Jota on the bench.”

OPINION

Bull is absolutely right, here. Gibbs-White has looked tremendous off the substitutes bench in recent weeks, appearing to be a fully formed central midfielder despite his tender years and earning rave reviews on Match of the Day. Costa, on the other hand, has come back with a vengeance after experiencing the most difficult spell of his Wolves career at the start of this season. He simply wasn’t being productive enough in front of goal but that looks to have improved recently, while his work rate is never less than spectacular. Jota hasn’t been doing enough to start games, while Traore hasn’t made the most of the opportunities he’s been given since joining the club. Cavaleiro has looked extremely impressive since coming into the team so, Bull is correct, him and Costa are the right choices at the moment either side of striker Raul Jimenez. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team just need a few more wins now.
