West Ham were not able to capitalise on their triumphant 4-2 win over Burnley last weekend after they were held to a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield on Saturday.

They went behind after just six minutes thanks to Alex Pritchard, and although they significantly improved in the second half, there is one performance in particular that is worth a mention.

That performance was from defender Aaron Cresswell, who was absolutely dire at left-back.

He usurped Arthur Masuaku from the position, but based on this display, it is really hard to understand why Manuel Pellegrini made such a poor decision.

Yes, he did get involved in the attacking play a little bit, but that certainly does not make up for the ludicrous mistakes he made defensively.

One of his back passes was so woeful that West Ham caused chaos in order to clear the ball, and if anything, that pretty much summed up his entire afternoon.

An upgrade is certainly needed for Cresswell, which is why Pellegrini must be brutal and axe him after his complete horror show.

Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski bailed him out a few times after he practically fell asleep when marking Huddersfield’s Aaron Mooy, who ran rings around him numerous times.

How many times does he have to make such catastrophic mistakes in order for Pellegrini to get the message and bin him?

There will be one time where one of his errors will well and truly cost West Ham points, and with the relegation battle being so close, they cannot afford for this to happen.

It may seem harsh to offload him in January, but the Irons are never going make any significant progress with Cresswell on the books.

Unfortunately, his time is up, and Pellegrini must axe him as soon as possible.
