West Ham United may have signed a striker in the summer transfer window in the shape of Lucas Perez, but it is safe to say that he is not having the best of times in East London.

Yes, he did score – a consolation goal, that is – against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, but apart from that, his contribution has been minimal.

That is why West Ham have turned to the services of Inter Milan forward Gabigol – who is currently on loan at Brazilian outfit Santos –  according to Goal Brazil.

The outlet reports that the likes of Everton and Crystal Palace are also interested in the attacker, but Manuel Pellegrini needs to blow his rivals out of the water in a move that will cause the London Stadium to erupt.

He has netted an impressive 25 goals on loan this season, and he is a player that will surely turn West Ham’s attacking woes upside down – not to mention leave east London erupting with his eye for goals.

The Hammers rely on Marko Arnautovic too much at the moment, and when he is not playing, they are unable to provide a genuine threat up front – and this is a real problem.

However, securing the capture of the 22-year-old would put all of those concerns to bed if his goal tally is anything to go by.

At his age, 25 goals in a season is astonishing, and Pellegrini would no doubt be hoping that Gabigol is able to replicate that figure if he joins forces with the Irons.

The report also states that Inter Milan are not able to accommodate him when he returns from loan, as they already have too many players in his position – something which makes a move to West Ham even easier to negotiate.

Pellegrini needs to pull of a blinder in January by brushing his rivals aside and securing the swoop of the prolific goal machine.
