Tottenham are among several Premier League sides taking an interest in Atletico Mineiro starlet Bruno Roberto, according to the Daily Mail

The newspaper report that Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are also tracking the 18-year-old, who has just broken into the first-team at the Brazilian Serie A.

The Mail claim that the attacking midfielder has been tipped to follow Gabriel Jesus in making a successful switch to Europe at a young age, with the City striker leaving his homeland at 17.

Good move for Tottenham?

Absolutely.

Brazil has been a source for some of the best players in the world, and recent history suggests that talent in the country is in no danger of drying up just yet.

Roberto looks to be one of the next in line for a move to Europe, and Spurs would do extremely well to snap him up in the face of such intense competition.

Under the tutelage of Mauricio Pochettino, the 18-year-old could blossom into a serious player for Spurs in the near future.

Likely to happen?

It looks as though Tottenham will have their work cut out to sign Roberto, with some of the country’s top sides showing interest in the youngster.

There will also be several other giant clubs in the hunt from the continent, and Spurs’ chances of success depend on how quickly they go about their business.

If they are quick in turning their interest into a formal bid then they have a chance, but if they wait around then they will surely be outbid by a rival.
