Tottenham have showed strong interest in recent days in Blackburn Rovers playmaker Bradley Dack, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The regional paper claim that Spurs are keeping close tabs “of late” on the 24-year-old, who has excelled in his debut Championship campaign after failing to sign Jack Grealish over the summer.

The Yorkshire Evening Post report Spurs could be about to pull off one of the five biggest deals involving second-tier English clubs in the January window along with transfers involving Sunderland midfielder George Honeyman, Middlesbrough ace Martin Braithwaite, Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe and Alaves winger Ibai Gomez.

Hats off to Dack for how he has performed for Blackburn since signing from Gillingham in the summer of 2017. He has been brilliant for the Lancashire outfit, both in spearheading their promotion campaign last season and once again in the Championship this term. The attacking midfielder has goal and assists tallies that most centre-forwards would die for, with 59 Rovers matches yielding 27 goals and 16 assists. He has established himself as one of the finest players in England’s second tier. But does he have the class and pedigree to move to an elite Premier League club? There would have to be a huge question mark over that, especially as Tottenham already have players in his position of the quality of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Son Heung-Min and Erik Lamela. Moving to the new White Hart Lane from Blackburn wouldn’t be so much a step up as a climb up quite a few rungs of the professional ladder.
