Considering the chaos that has swirled around the club this season, Tottenham Hotspur have reached November in a respectable position.

The continuing uncertainty around their new stadium has been a big hindrance and distraction for Mauricio Pochettino and his players, as have the sheer amount of injuries suffered by first-team squad members so far this term.

However, this injury-ravaged and homeless Tottenham team are still within touching distance at the top of the Premier League and are into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

The one competition which has been a disappointment so far is obviously the Champions League, but their hopes are technically still alive in that one.

In order to convert this promising position into something greater, Pochettino is going to have to bring in some players in January, there is no doubt about that.

There are several positions of concern for the Argentine, with one of those being full-back, where the departure of Kyle Walker and the series of injuries suffered by Danny Rose have left Spurs a shadow of their former self in that area.

Pochettino will no doubt be looking at potential targets in that area, and he must now go back to a player he has admired for a long time.

As reported by The Sun, Fulham flyer Ryan Sessegnon has been left totally dejected by Fulham’s lack of form in the Premier League, and may be tempted into a January switch.

The Cottagers have been keen to tie the 18-year-old down to a long-term deal, but that has not yet come to fruition, which opens the door for Tottenham to finally make their move.

Pochettino is known to be a big admirer of the young talent, who has so far struggled to make an impact in the top-flight after a stunning season in the Championship.

That will not deter Spurs however, with Sessegnon easily having the ability to become a star in the Premier League in the near future, especially under Pochettino’s wing.

Tottenham must now launch a January swoop for the 18-year-old sensation, who would help them shake things up at full-back while providing options elsewhere and having the potential to be a future star.
