Tottenham could make a move in the January transfer window for Genk midfielder Sander Berge, according to Team Talk.

The reliable football outlet reports on its website that Spurs are currently leading the chase for the 20-year-old Norwegian starlet, who they have been tracking since he was 16 and were close to signing in January 2017.

Everton, Arsenal and West Ham were also keen on the 6ft 4in [Transfermarkt] ace’s services, and he spent some time on trial at other clubs too – but Tottenham will only swoop for Berge if they can create some space in their own squad.

Good move for Tottenham?

Yes, possibly. Seeming as Spurs have been tracking the midfielder for four years, it is clear that the club think he would slot straight into the squad. He has shone since he moved to Belgium at the start of last year and there is no doubt that he would be able to replicate that if he made the switch to England. For a player who is only 20-years-old, he is quite the talent – and he would be quite the coup too.

Likely to happen?

Yes, it could do. The report states that Tottenham are leading the chase for him, so they could very well make a bid for him in January. However, they will need to get rid of someone in order to accommodate space for him in the squad – so that is the first thing that Mauricio Pochettino will need to focus on come the transfer window. If he does manage to do that, then a move will most likely be on the cards.
