Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama is back in training for Tottenham after missing out on the Wolves clash with a knee injury.

Wanyama was training on his own today ahead of the Champions League clash on Tuesday and was spotted by ESPN journalist Ben Pearce.

He added that it was “good news” that he was back in training given his previous knee injuries.

He reported the news on his personal Twitter page on Monday morning ahead of the press conference at lunchtime.

OPINION

This is really good news for Tottenham who are suffering from a bit of a mini-injury crisis at the moment. Erie Dier and Dele Alli are not expected back until after the international break, and they’ve joined Jan Vertonghen on the sidelines with the centre-back on the long-term injury list. Wanyama was a worry after he was missing from the Wolves clash with a knee injury. He’s only made three Premier League appearances this season after suffering with knee problems back in August. They seem to have made a recurrence but the fact that he’s already back out and training, albiet on his own, suggests that he’s not far off a return. Tuesday’s clash against PSV – a must-win if Spurs want to progress in the Champions League – will probably come too soon, but Spurs have Crystal Palace at the weekend and then an international break to get him back to full speed.
