With just a month or so left until the turn of the year, focus at all Premier League clubs will be on the upcoming January window.

The January market offers teams an invaluable chance to strengthen in the middle of the season, and address any glaring issues which have arisen in the first part of the campaign.

There will however also be some rare chances to look even further ahead to the following window in the summer, with certain players angling for moves at the end of the term.

Spurs look to have stumbled across such an opportunity, with the agent of red-hot Genk winger Leandro Trossard revealing he has been in contact with the club.

As quoted by The Sun, Josy Comhair said: “I sought contact with Arsenal and Tottenham officials. Nobody at Tottenham was willing to confirm that Trossard is an option for them – but at Arsenal they were.”

Comhair goes on to confirm that Trossard will definitely leave Belgium in the summer, with the 23-year-old ready for the next step in his career.

Tottenham would do extremely well to snap up the versatile winger, who has been in scintillating form so far this season with an incredible 15 goals in 18 games from the left flank.

It is therefore slightly worrying that Tottenham have failed to confirm their interest in the goal machine, while bitter rivals Arsenal have done so.

The 23-year-old is a serious talent who would add massive firepower to an already-dangerous Tottenham attack, with the winger also unlikely to cost a prohibitive fee.

Considering the fact that Trossard’s agent has already been in contact with the club, Tottenham would be absolutely bonkers to pass up such an opportunity to lay the groundwork for such a move.

Whether they are genuinely not interested or just keeping their cards close to their chest, Spurs must make sure they are in the hunt to sign Trossard in the summer.

Failing to sign the young talent would be made even worse if Arsenal did so, and Tottenham must make sure that does not happen at the end of the campaign.
