Tottenham fans are getting very excited at the possibility of their club winning the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain in the January window. No wonder. The central midfielder is a class act, about to enter his peak years and would be a high quality addition at a time when there is a state of uncertainty over Mauricio Pochettino’s central midfield options. French publication Le Parisien claim PSG are making plans to sell Rabiot, 23, in January and the two clubs best placed to sign him are Spurs and Juventus, with the latter preferring to wait until next summer when he would be available on a free. Intriguingly, it is said that Tottenham’s excellent relations with the French giants following the 2017 and 2018 captures of Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura could prove pivotal. This has gone down well with Lilywhites, who are eager for their club to recruit a proven star in a position where the club could lose Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama next year, with the former out of contract at the end of the season and the latter afflicted by niggling knee problems.
