OPINION
Daniel Levy might have done a brilliant job for Tottenham but he’s known to be a very shrewd businessman in the transfer market – and that occasionally backfires on him, as it appeared to with Jack Grealish last summer.
The wages at Tottenham have also caused huge discussion over the past couple of years too with a tight ceiling leaving pundits worried that stars like Harry Kane would leave.
The restrictions have been relaxed recently, with new deals for players like Harry Kane moving him closer to his true market value.
But it seems like Heung-Min Son is punching way above his weight.
Don’t get us wrong, we love Son. But the 26-year-old has been on the fringes of the Spurs team this season, with just three starts in the Premier League so far.
And, according to figures from a reliable Tottenham source, he’s the third highest paid player at the club, behind only Harry Kane and Dele Alli – and Alli was only bumped up this week when he signed a new contract.
Son’s £140k-a-week seems like a staggering amount of money when you put it next to Christian Eriksen (£70k-a-week), Toby Alderweireld (£70k-a-week) and Lucas Moura (£75k-a-week).

It led to one Tottenham fan questioning the accuracy of the figures, and Lilywhite Rose responded explaining how it had happened.
Son joined the club in 2015 for £22 Million he was very highly coveted by many clubs so we paid him £75,000 per week.
He renewed for 5 more years on 20 July 2018 on the back of making almost 150 appearances for us and scoring 49 goals he is 26 in the peak of his abilities. https://t.co/nmMtS2jHwG

Daniel Levy might be accused of being tight but he can obviously spend the money when he wants to.
The only trouble is, when these figures get out, there might be a lot of other Tottenham players who will want a bigger piece of the pie themselves.
As for Son, good luck to him. He’s a great player who doesn’t always seem to get what he deserves in terms of playing time at Spurs. His wage packet should help comfort him.
