Mauricio Pochettino has yet another injury to contend with as Victor Wanyama has been ruled out of the Wolves clash with a knee injury.

Ben Pearce, an ESPN journalist, reported the news from the Tottenham pre-match press conference on Friday lunchtime.

Wanyama will join Danny Rose and Eric Dier on the injury list, with neither likely to return before the international break.

That means they would miss the next three games, including the PSV clash, and wouldn’t be back before November 24.

Jan Vertonghen is also still out with a long-term injury.

OPINION

The injuries are starting to rack up for Tottenham now and Wanyama will be another miss on Saturday. He’s suffered from a spate on injuries this season that has meant he hasn’t made a start yet for Tottenham in the league. He made his return in the game against West ham but has suffered yet another setback. Perhaps a bigger miss is Danny Rose, who is unlikely to return until after the international break now, along with Eric Dier. It means that Ben Davies will continue to deputise. He got a rest in midweek, along with Kieran Tippier, so both full-backs should be fine for the Saturday evening clash. But Pochettino will be praying he faces no more injuries, with a must-win game against PSV coming next week. If they don’t win that their already slim chances of qualifying for the knockouts of the Champions League will be destroyed. Tottenham will be favourites to pick up the three points against Wolves on Saturday and get back to winning ways after losing to Man City. But it won’t be easy and this injury news won’t help.
