Tottenham have set their sights on signing Borussia Dortmund sensation Christian Pulisic in the January window, according to Harry Hotspur.

The Spurs blog, which has a track record of breaking transfer stories involving the club, claim manager Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy are in full agreement about trying to bring the USA international to White Hart Lane.

Harry Hotspur reports Pulisic is Pochettino’s “big target” in January and Levy has agreed to try to sign him as it would be a deal that makes great commercial sense.

Good move for Tottenham?

Definitely. Pulisic has been the talk of the Bundesliga since breaking into the Dortmund since aged 17 and has already racked up 109 first-team appearances despite only turning 20 in September. He is mobile, direct, skillful, blessed with excellent technique and has courage, too. Operating predominantly on the right wing, he’s scored three goals and assisted four more from 12 matches this season. His total tallies for Dortmund are 15 goals and 24 assists. Given his age and the standard at which he is playing, that is remarkably impressive. Pulisic has also netted nine times in 22 internationals. Is he a potential world beater? Definitely.

Likely to happen?

Only if the numbers add up. Pulisic has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League in the last year or two, and has done little to publicly distance himself from such a move. Yet he would be very expensive, with the Mirror reporting that Dortmund value him at £62million. As the Ousmane Dembele deal showed, they are capable of making huge profits on exciting attacking players.
