A section of international fans have drooled over the first half display of Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling in England’s match against Croatia.
England host Croatia at Wembley in the hope of securing the win and progressing to the next round of the UEFA Nations League, with the loser being relegated from the group.
During the first half, many supporters were raving about the City speedster, who had a clear cut chance that was saved by the opponents’ goalkeeper.
Some comments included “movement is incredible”, “majestic” and “best player in the world”.
COMMENTARY
It is no surprise that Sterling has been impressing so far for England – he has been in form for both club and country recently. He was unlucky to have his effort blocked by the Croatian keeper in the first half, especially as he made a magnificent run just before. His speed is causing Croatia all sorts of problems, and will no doubt continue to going in to the second half. Sterling’s combination with Marcus Rashford in the final third has been rather incredible, with the skill set displayed between the both of them clearly impressing many fans. As one supporter said, his movement is incredible – a key asset that has been vital to City’s success in the Premier League this season. The City faithful will have their fingers crossed that he can maintain this form for club – but based on this first half display, he has shown no signs of slowing.
