OPINION

Newcastle United make the trip to Turf Moor on Monday night to take on Burnley, and they will undoubtedly be hoping to maintain their good form that they established before the international break.

They are obviously hoping to build upon their first two wins over Watford and Bournemouth, results which saw them leap out of the Premier League relegation zone.

Opponents Burnley come off the back of a 0-0 draw with Leicester City, so they will certainly be hoping to get back to winning ways against the Magpies.

This will be a tough test for Rafa Benitez, and he must get his starting XI spot on if they want to record their third victory of the campaign, with the Spaniard having to contend with one recent injury concern,

In goal, Martin Dubravka must start as normal, especially after some match-winning saves against the Cherries.

In defence, DeAndre Yedlin, Federico Fernandez and Fabian Schar must all retain their places after such assured performances last time out – but the rarely-seen flyer Javier Manquillo must replace the injured Paul Dummett at left-back after the setback he sustained while playing for Wales in the UEFA Nations League.

Jonjo Shelvey is unlikely to be risked against the Clarets so Benitez must opt for Ki Sung-Yueng to deputise once again in his place, with Mo Diame keeping his spot.

On the flanks, Matt Ritchie and Kenedy must retain their places, while Ayoze Perez should start for the second time ahead of Yoshinori Muto, who is another player that Benitez might not be willing to risk.

This is a Newcastle XI who are more than capable of stunning their opponents on Monday in order to get another three points on the board.
