Man United struggled against Bournemouth in the early kick-off on Saturday, eventually coming out 2-1 winners, and fans were not happy with midfielder Nemanja Matic.
The home side took the lead early on through Callum Wilson and should have scored more in a rampant start that had manager Jose Mourinho saying his side were “very lucky” after the game.
But United weathered the storm and found an equaliser through Anthony Martial, their best player again, before winning it late on to break Bournemouth hearts.
COMMENTARY
Man United fans aren’t happy and if you watched the Premier League game against Bournemouth today you’d understand why. United have been such a strong team for so long that it’s a real surprise to see them run over by a team like Bournemouth, but that’s what happed in the first-half on the south coast today. Eddie Howe has got his side playing brilliantly but United were a shambles early on, and fans were quick to point the finger of blame at Nemanja Matic. The £120k-a-week (source: Spotrac] midfielder was hopeless today and has never looked worth the £40million that United paid for him to Chelsea. Some fans said that he ad to be dropped, with Ander Herrera the favourite to take his place. Another said that they’d be better off playing with nine, without Matic or Chris Smalling. United turned on the style in the second-half and it begs the question as to why they can’t put in that sort of display for 90 minutes. Until they do they’re really going to struggle in the Premier League.
