Celtic could sign another Manchester City attacker in Brahim Diaz after losing Daniel Arzani for the rest of the season, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper claim the Scottish giants are set to have their sights on Spanish attacking midfielder Diaz with a view to a January loan deal.

The Record report Celtic have excellent relations with City after the Arzani and Patrick Roberts loans and a third in three years could be on the cards.

Good move for Celtic?

Yes, definitely. Diaz is a stellar talent who has demonstrated in the League Cup this season that he has the talent to make it at the highest level. He scored twice in City’s 2-0 win over Fulham last week, and has 14 appearances for the Premier League giants under his belt. Like Roberts and Arzani, the teenage Spaniard is a winger, who is capable of scoring and creating goals. Indeed, many at City rate the youngster higher than the two previous players Celtic have taken on loan from the English champions. The Hoops are likely to be on the lookout for a January attacking loan, especially after Arzani’s cruciate ligament injury, and Diaz would fit the bill.

Likely to happen?

Don’t rule it out. Much will depend upon the stance of City and Pep Guardiola, and whether he regards Diaz as a player capable of making the step up to Premier League and Champions League level this season. Given that the 19-year-old has yet to make a matchday squad for the champions in either competition, it is likely Diaz could go out on loan, especially if City are eliminated from the League Cup before the end of January.
