Tottenham Hotspur have received a boost with initial results suggesting that Kieran Trippier has not suffered a serious injury, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper report that the club have carried out initial assessments on Trippier’s groin injury, suffered against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Mail claim that these scans show that Trippier has only suffered a minor complaint, although it is not clear whether he will take part for England over the international break.

OPINION

This is a big boost for Tottenham, who have been having to contend with so many injuries so far this season. Mauricio Pochettino’s side seem to be paying the price for having so many stars play in, and get to the latter stages, of the World Cup in the summer. Trippier is the latest to join that long list of players to suffer a muscle injury after having hardly any time off in the summer, but it now looks like his complaint is a minor one. Davinson Sanchez has also joined the injury list after being left out of the squad to face Crystal Palace, and the extent of that injury is not yet known. While these continuing injury problems are a big issue for Spurs, they are also helping the club illustrate their strength in depth as they currently sit in fourth in the table after 12 Premier League games.
