Everton are in the hunt to sign Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and could offer Ademola Lookman or Cenk Tosun in part-exchange, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claim the Merseysiders are “compiling a dossier” on right-back Wan-Bissaka as they look to recruit an alternative option to long-serving Seamus Coleman.

The Sun report Everton could tempt Palace with winger Lookman in part-exchange or “even striker Cenk Tosun is a swap option down the line”.

Good move for Everton?

Wan-Bissaka has made a huge impression since being catapulted into the Palace side last season due to an injury crisis. He has started nine of their 10 matches in the current campaign and looked comfortable on the right side of the defence as he benefits from the advice of rearguard experts Roy Hodgson and Ray Lewington. The London-born youngster is super-quick, mobile and has the energy to drive up and down the flank. As his decision-making improves with experience, he has the potential to develop into an England international and a quality Premier League performer. No wonder Everton are keeping a close eye on him.

Likely to happen?

Swap deals had been a rarity in the Premier League for a decade before the Henrikh Mkhitaryan-Alexis Sanchez deal in January that reshaped the attacks of Arsenal and Manchester United. Suddenly, despite their complications, they are en vogue again. A January part-exchange between Everton and Palace appears unlikely, but a deal next summer is a possibility if Palace believe Lookman could thrive in their team.
